The Brief
Langside College Management team had a clear vision; to create an inspirational Campus on which to build the “Langside Experience.” High Quality finishes, modern aesthetics, clean lines and an ergonomic workspace were all high priority.
Kirsteen Brown, HCS Business Interiors Project Manager and her team therefore worked closely with Langside College in order to deliver just that. The new Campus is unique in its design, with a fabulous entrance leading from Battlefield Road. The first area visitor’s experience is the large Café area on the Ground Floor, and our aim was to exhibit the new campus to its full potential.
The Solution
A mix of beautifully finished ceramic tiles combined with wood flooring and neutral wall colours gave HCS a blank canvas on which to create an ultra modern area for students and staff alike. Walnut Furnishings by Sven Christiansen were proposed with seating from Connection, Orangebox and Casala; all market leaders. By combining a range of striking colours on the dining chairs and soft seating, the area definitely creates the perfect first impression to any visitor.
Once inside the Reception area, you are welcomed by an open atrium leading to all upper floors. Orangebox seating solutions were placed on each floor, thus providing a wide range of shapes and finishes. Lynn Maxwell, HCS Design Manager was instrumental in devising various colour palettes to maximise the impact of each area, whilst staying true to the design of the build.
Cherry Veneered finishes are used on all internal doors and reception area within the building. HCS worked in partnership with Morris of Scotland to insure that all cherry furnishings complemented the standard contract work.
The Result
Working closely with Langside College and our design team, HCS developed a stylish, clean and modern environment for students, staff and visitors alike to enjoy, while preserving the functional elements of the building.
Feedback from visitors and staff has been excellent and we certainly hope to assist Langside College Management Team in the Future.
